City offices
City offices are located at 460 Third Street, on the corner of Third Street and Parker Avenue (Highway 12). Postal address is City of Dassel, PO Box 391, Dassel, MN 55325.

To reach city hall by phone, call (320) 275-2454; hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
The city hall contains the city clerk’s office, public library, and community room (call to reserve). The council meets 7 p.m. the first and third Mondays of the month in the city council chambers in the city office building.
The city clerk’s office provides a constant flow of services to the citizens and visitors of Dassel, as well as building permits, utility services, and a wide range of information.
Policing and law enforcement are provided under contract with the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, with two full-time deputies assigned to Dassel.
City Council
Mayor Mike Scanlon, (612) 816-8206. The city council includes members Jason Benzing (320) 275-9939, Wayne Medcraft (320) 275-9200, Bob Lalone (320) 275-2256, and Alesia Warner (320) 275-2308.
City administrator is Myles McGrath, e-mail myles.mcgrath@dassel.com. The head of the public works department is Dave Scepaniak. Other full-time public works employees are Richard Berg, Walter Hanson, and Jay Evjen.
Office staff includes Billing and Permit Clerk Barbara Weege, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Sherrie Bjork, and Administrator Clerk/Treasurer Myles McGrath.
Planning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission is the planning agency for the City of Dassel. Commission members are: Jeff Loven, Mike Enerson, Kim Clancy, Jack Adams, and Ava Flachmeyer.
Police Advisory Committee
Membership is made up of active and concerned Dassel residents as appointed by the city council. Meetings are on an as-needed basis.
Economic Development Authority (EDA)
The EDA was formulated in 1996, to accomplish a role in financing Dassel Lakeside Apartments. Reformulation was undertaken in 2009, for broader economic development efforts within the community. Members are: Council Member Jason Benzing and Mayor Mike Scanlon, along with at-large member commissioners Max Johnson (6 years), Dave Thomas (5 years), Rob Walters (4 years).
Dassel History Center & Ergot Museum
The Dassel History Center & Ergot Museum is located on County Road 4, north of Dassel (First Street). It features a community room that can accommodate up to 240 people for various events including weddings. For questions or to reserve the facilities, call the museum at (320) 275-3077. Winter parking
Dassel has an ordinance which regulates the parking of vehicles during the winter months. There is no parking on city streets from 2 to 6 a.m., Nov. 15 through April 15.
Snowmobile ordinance
The City of Dassel snowmobile ordinance limits snowmobiles to one trip out of town, and one trip into town only. No snowmobiling is allowed in the city from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Pet ordinance
Licenses are required for all dogs. The license fee for spayed or neutered dogs is $10. The regular license fee is $25. Dogs must be leashed or under the control of a responsible person. Dogs running at large will be picked up. The fee for a licensed dog pick-up is $25. The fee for an unlicensed dog pick-up is $50. The second pick-up fee is $75. The dog will be impounded for the third and subsequent pick-ups, and the owner will be charged for the actual cost of impoundment, plus the license fee, if applicable.
