Dairy Berry Day
In June, when the berries are ripe and ready for picking, Dassel is host to Dairy Berry Day.
In its Bandstand Park in the heart of downtown Dassel, friends, families, and neighbors gather to enjoy strawberry sundaes, root beer floats, live music, and good company.
Each year, Dassel Hillside Farm, located just north of Dassel on Highway 15, grows and donates the fresh strawberries for this event, while the Dassel Co-op Dairy Association provides the cold ice cream.
Music is traditionally provided by the Mid-Minnesota Concert Band, made up of local musicians who perform a variety of music for the guests in attendance.
This is also when the Dassel Red Rooster Day ambassador candidates make their first public appearance as they and the current ambassadors dish up for the locals.
This is a great time to meet the people of Dassel and share in a tasty treat while enjoying the great outdoors, but remember to bring a lawn chair.
