Located just six miles down the road from Cokato and fostering many of the same qualities as its neighbor, there is no wonder Dassel was chosen as runner-up by Bloomberg Businessweek making it the second best place in Minnesota to raise kids for 2011.

Sitting at the crossroads of MN Highways 15 and 12, the town of 1,469 has seen a significant population growth in the past 10 years, according to recent US Census data. The nearly 20 percent increase may be attributed to Dassel’s small-town appeal, low cost of living, and its excellent school system, which it shares with Cokato.

Dassel has also become a popular “hometown” for workers commuting to the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, Hutchinson, Litchfield, and Willmar.

There is also an abundance of lakes, trails, and parks in the area making Dassel not only great place to enjoy many outdoor activities, but get away from the stresses of life, as well.
