The Dassel Red Rooster Days festival draws quite a crowd to Dassel during Labor Day weekend each year.
Beginning as a one-day event that took place on Labor Day, the festival has grown throughout the years to encompass the whole weekend, concluding with the largest chicken barbecue in Minnesota.
The 57th annual Red Rooster Days is scheduled for Friday through Monday, Sept 2 to 5, 2016.
Events that have taken place during past Red Rooster Days events include a farmers market, and a bike ride.
Other events have included the MN Minn-E-Rod tractor pull, a brat feed, and a fireworks show at dusk at Spring Lake Park.
There has also been a 5-mile run, a 1-mile run/walk, a classic car show, and plenty of other fun, family-friendly entertainment and activities.
Programs at the Dassel History Center, and creations of local artists have been displayed at the Red Rooster Fine Arts Show.
The annual Red Rooster Days parade has consistently been the second-largest in Meeker County.
The Dassel Ambassadors coronation takes place in the Dassel-Cokato Performing Arts Center.
